Tia Lambert

Born in 1958, Tia studied Fine Art (BA Hons) at West Surrey College of Art and Design (1977-80), followed by a postgraduate diploma at the Royal Academy Schools, Piccadilly (1982-5).

Tia lives and works in Malvern.  She studied painting to postgraduate level at the Royal Academy School in London, and now teaches part-time at Malvern Hills College.

Tia works mainly in oils, preferring to exaggerate rather than understate colours observed from still life subjects.  Paint is sometimes applied quite thickly, and with a palette knife.  Movement through the picture in important, and the frequent use of mirrors in the still life works provides distance and depth.
