At the age of 21, Tim decided to try to master watercolour. He is still trying to conquer this difficult medium, retaining its transparent quality while maintaining a tonally competent painting, and experimenting with alien materials to capture atmosphere and texture. After many years of total dedication Tim is now a member of the Royal Birmingham Watercolour Society and has had work accepted and sold at the Royal Institute of Watercolour Artists at the Mall Galleries in London. Having been in industry for several years he now teaches art at a local college, trying to inspire his pupils and show them the techniques that took him years to master. He has undertaken commissions for limited edition prints of private buildings and his paintings have been used for company calendars by GEC Marconi, Guest and Whyte & Mackay. |
